Money is the pillar of the capitalist economy. But although being part of our daily life as a means of payment, money appears as a complex phenomenon when it’s a question of understanding its mechanisms or stakes. The subprime Crisis revealed that the functioningof financial markets was too complex to grasp for any mind, even that of a financial wizard. Aware of my inability to understand the current situation, I therefore decided to look at the topic step by step. Like a trip in a foreign country, I must had to ‘‘learn’’a new complex language. The difficulty of defining the economic context of today arises from its abstraction. So let us add the image to the word, the world, graphic metaphor to typography. My project is elaborated around the graphic representation of key economic notions ( assets, shares, bid..). I chose to «divert» photographs of typical everyday objects, as vehicle of communication. I would like to address the public at large. I took photography of paper-based from the financial sector like claim for expenses, order, to put typography on. Image+ Words : the most accessible means of conveying the idea, making it immediate, accessible. The subject of Money concerns us all. A visual «dialogue» between image and typographic compositions on the issue of Money in all its complexities and ambiguities, presented with the very « materials» of Money, treats the subject with both coherence and fantasy. The context is of course contemporary, but also philosophical, sociological.

À la manière d’un voyage dans un pays étranger, j’ai dû ‘‘apprendre’’ une langue nouvelle, parfois complexe. La difficulté à cerner le contexte économique actuel réside dans son abstraction et donc dans son problème
de représentation. La monnaie est le pilier des économies capitalistes. Mais bien que faisant partie de notre quotidien comme un moyen de payement, la monnaie apparaît comme un phénomène complexe dés qu’il s’agit
d’en comprendre les mécanismes ou les enjeux. La crise des Subprimes a révélé à quel point le fonctionnement des marchés financiers pouvait échapper à la compréhension des citoyens mais aussi parfois aux professionnels
de la finance. L’argent est un sujet qui nous concerne tous car c’est une nécessité liés aux échanges, un moyen basé sur une notion de valeur.Consciente de mon incapacité à comprendre à la situation économique actuelle,
j’ai donc décidé de me pencher sur le sujet étape par étape.
